TABS

Connect Tabs to your AI

Tabs — listed as Tabs Social in the ChatGPT directory — is a feed of what you and your friends are paying attention to — like a music status, but for what you're thinking about. The connector lets your assistant post your current focus to your friends, and bring their vibes back into your chat.

What you need

Setup

  1. In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors (Developer mode).
  2. Use the server URL https://withtabs.com/mcp and choose OAuth as the authentication method.
  3. You'll be sent to the Tabs consent screen. Sign in with Apple — or with your email and password — and approve the connection. If you already use Tabs, sign in the same way you did in the app so it links to your existing account.
  4. Start a new chat and talk normally. Your first vibe appears in the app within seconds.

Authentication

Tabs uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Signing in happens on the Tabs consent screen, with Sign in with Apple or an email and password — your Claude or ChatGPT account is never involved. The connector receives a token scoped to your Tabs account only. Disconnecting the connector in Claude or ChatGPT revokes it; you can also pause all sharing from the app at any time.

What the connector can do

attention_updatewrite

Posts a one-line summary of what you're focused on — plus an optional topic word, mood emoji, and a few specific details — to the friends you've added in Tabs.

Sends only the short summary your assistant composes. It does not read or upload your conversation.

get_friend_feedread

Returns the latest thing each of your friends is paying attention to, so you can ask about it in chat.

Only friends you have mutually added, and only vibes from the last 24 hours.

check_inboxread

Returns messages friends sent you, reactions and comments on your vibes, and who is vibing along with you.

Only your own inbox.
