Tabs privacy policy

What Tabs does
Tabs shares what you're currently paying attention to in your AI chats (Claude, ChatGPT) with friends you choose — like a music status, but for attention. You connect it yourself, and you control it.
What we collect
- Attention updates: short summaries (about one sentence), a topic word, a mood emoji, and optionally an interesting detail, sent by your AI assistant when you have the Tabs connector installed. We never see your actual conversations — only the short summary the assistant chooses to send.
- Account basics: a display name you pick, an optional profile photo, and your sign-in identifier — a pseudonymous Apple identifier, or your email address and a securely hashed password. No contacts upload.
- Social activity: reactions, comments, and messages you and your friends exchange in the app.
- Connector tokens: when you connect Claude or ChatGPT, we store an authorization token for that connection so it can post on your behalf. It grants access to your Tabs account only.
- Device push token: if you allow notifications, so we can tell you when a friend reacts or writes.
The connector and what it can access
Connecting Tabs to Claude or ChatGPT uses OAuth 2.1. You sign in on the Tabs consent screen — with Sign in with Apple, or an email and password — and your Claude or ChatGPT account credentials are never shared with us. We never receive your conversations. Once connected, the assistant can post your attention updates, read the recent vibes of friends you have mutually added, and read your own Tabs inbox. Nothing else. You can disconnect it in Claude or ChatGPT at any time, which revokes the token, or pause all sharing from inside the app.
How long we keep it
- Attention updates leave friends' feeds after 24 hours. Friends you've accepted can see your last 7 days on your profile page.
- You can delete any vibe instantly, pause sharing ("ghost mode") anytime, keep chosen topics off Tabs entirely, and sensitive topics are blurred automatically by default.
- We delete all of your data whenever you ask. Email us and everything associated with your account is removed — we'll confirm within 72 hours.
What we don't do
- No ads, no selling or sharing data with third parties for marketing.
- No reading your AI conversations — the connector only receives what the assistant explicitly sends.
- No contact-list access.
- No building advertising or behavioural profiles from what you pay attention to.
Where it lives
Data is stored with our hosting providers (Vercel, Supabase) in encrypted form in transit and at rest. To auto-blur sensitive topics, the short summary text (only, never conversations) may be sent to OpenAI's API for classification; it is not used to train models and is not stored by us beyond the vibe itself.
Your controls
- Topics to keep private: list topics in the app (for example “therapy, job hunt”) and anything touching them is never shared. Your assistant is instructed to leave those out, and our server drops them if anything slips through.
- Ghost mode: pause all sharing, in both directions, whenever you want.
- Auto-blur: personal subjects are shown to friends as a vague placeholder by default.
- Per-vibe delete, and disconnecting the connector from Claude or ChatGPT.
To delete your account and all associated data, email hello@lumorlabs.com — we'll confirm within 72 hours.
